This blog is about two people who love food; we love cooking, creating, and eating it. Instead of moving to Maine and opening a bakery (oh, to dream), I’ve decided that blogging about the delicious food of the Third Floor would be a perfect substitute.
He had been tinkering with baking for a little while, and bought Bernard Clayton’s New Complete Book of Breads. He has been using those recipes to come up with his creations. Another wonderful source of recipes has been Martha Stewart’s Baking Book and her Everyday Food magazine.
Since he’s been cooking through that bread book we have not had to buy bread; everything comes from our kitchen.
I love Martha Stewart and I love to bake. I am mostly a cookie and quick bread baker, although I have dabbled in cakes and cupcakes. They usually come out too dense, so I try to stick to what I’m good at.
Both Doug and I enjoy healthy eating and staying active. These two really go hand in hand as the food that we eat becomes less and less processed, the better we feel.
So here we are, on the food blog bandwagon. We’ve been saying that when we win the millions we will move to Maine and open a bakery. Instead of that, we’ll keep our day jobs for now, and just blog about the delicious creations.

We sound so much alike with the dreams, Martha, staying active and starting a blog in place of a store! Keep up the great blogging!
Love you guys.
I love this blog it makes me happy!!! I will be sure to check in!!
This is my exact dream… move to Maine and open a bakery or a kitchen related store!
Maybe we can join forces!
That’d be awesome!
