I see bread in my future

This week I have decided to apply to a bakery in Amherst, NH and one in Windham, NH. My chances of actually becoming their cookie connoisseur are probably slim to none, but I want to give it a shot.

Doug is jealous of my ability to apply, but I am jealous of his four years in a teaching job. I guess it all equals out.

To make up for his jealousy Doug made English muffin bread while I went to the library. This is another one of Bernard Clayton’s masterpieces:

I had a slice with dinner (once again I should have taken a photo) which was untoasted. The texture was almost ciabatta-like, but buttery on the outside. It had the necessary nooks and crannies of the regular muffins, and was dense like them as well. I’d say this bread was a hit.
