Yesterday was my rest day for half-marathon training. It also happened to be one of the most beautiful days of summer. It was a mild 77 degrees with a slight breeze. Simply gorgeous.
To celebrate the end of summer Doug and I decided to go to the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield, MA. We had been there before and fallen in love with the trails, all the wildlife we saw, and the sheer beauty that was represented.
The first great thing is that most of the trails are shaded.
Then there was a lookout for bird watching.
Binoculars make me a little woosy.
I love stone bridges.
Then we happened upon this lady just as we were about to exit the wooded area.
There was another little one bouncing around, with it’s white tail up. Luckily, they both just looked at as we did them. No boundaries were crossed.
I highly recommend walking this trail if you like any kind of natural setting. There are dozens of different birds and other wildlife to be seen.
